Today’s Tahiti honeymoon feature was a very fun one for us to put together! Although they are from Southern California, these two are both Polynesian dancers that have always dreamed of going to Tahiti. While they were in Moorea and Bora Bora, they were constantly tagging us in pictures on social media so we got to travel along with them and live vicariously. As you can see from their pictures, their excitement for traveling to Tahiti on their honeymoon was contagious and they were a joy to work with. Read on below for their insights and tips from their time spent honeymooning in French Polynesia and their wonderful pictures (luckily for us, they are passionate about travel photography!).
Tell us a little bit about yourselves.
We are newlyweds from Southern California who, while working regular 9-5 jobs, pursue our passions of photography, videography, and writing by documenting our love for travel. We are Polynesian dancers as well with about 20 years of experience between the both of us so traveling to Tahiti has always been a dream.
Favorite moment from the trip.
We had so much fun on our private tour with Tanoa around Bora Bora. He is very passionate about his island and showed us many beautiful places. The moment we stepped on to his family’s private motu and saw lunch all set up for us, we really felt like we were on vacation.
What are the can’t miss Tahiti experiences?
Definitely do not miss swimming with the sharks and rays, taking a lovely hike through Opunohu Valley on Moorea, and watching Heiva if you are in Tahiti in July!
What’s the one thing you didn’t do that you wish you had?
We saw so many beautiful sights and experienced so many wonderful things but we would have loved to maybe swim or hike to a waterfall. We went in July which is dry season, so the waterfalls were not as full and flowing as they usually are.
What touches did Camille add to your trip that made it a legendary honeymoon?
The little extras she included to celebrate our marriage like free upgrades, welcome presents, and champagne were a nice touch. It made us feel very special.
What one word comes to mind when you think about your Tahiti honeymoon?
Dreamy. It was definitely a dream come true,
Tips for people currently planning a Tahiti honeymoon.
Tahiti is a beautiful place. Experience everything you can, but don’t forget to leave some room in there for being spontaneous. Also, eat all the poisson cru you can. You won’t find it that delicious anywhere else!
Thank you to Jamie & Tim for sharing their Tahiti honeymoon experience with us! We wish them many happy years together and many future trips to Tahiti!
